Signal hygiene: higher timeframe, pauses, quiet windows

Settings that do not look for signals but cut off the obviously bad ones.

The higher timeframe filter

A 15-minute signal against the hourly trend is a common source of losses. The filter requires the direction to match the direction on the higher timeframe. There will be fewer signals, but almost none of them counter-trend.

Pause after a losing streak

Three or four losses in a row usually means the market changed regime while the configuration stayed the same. The pause stops issuing signals for a set time.

The scope of the pause (the whole strategy, or only the pair where the streak happened) is a separate setting.

Per-pair cooldown

The minimum gap between two signals on the same instrument. Without it a volatile stretch produces a series of nearly identical signals, and a person opens five positions where they meant to open one.

Quiet windows

not at the screen.

Pausing the strategy

A separate toggle stops signal output entirely without deleting the strategy or losing its settings. Useful while you are working through results and do not want new signals.

Spot simulation

Affects how the result is computed in a run: long positions only, as on a spot account where you cannot sell what you do not have.
